Meeting Minutes

Attendees: Brady Johnson, Cameron Raymond, Merilee Livingston
Absent: Kara Everton, Tom Davis, Kara Everton, Emily Sorenson

Discussion Items:

We discussed the responsibilities of the council which include fielding questions/concerns from the community as well as writing the School Land Trust Plan and the School TSSA Plan. This process will begin in January. Next meeting we will have a review of last year’s plan and expenditures that have been made. Our plans will focus on providing continued paraprofessional support to our school reading program. We hope to have a little extra funds to put towards other projects as well.
Brady will email a video to all council members of the SCC training provided by the district earlier this month.
Brady will reach out to the school community in hopes of recruiting additional council members. There will be a call for nominations and a ballot vote as well. This will take place before the next meeting.

NOVEMBER 2022 MINUTES

Good Morning Council,

You will find the final expenditure reports from last year's Trust Lands and TSSA plans attached. Here is a little narrative on each:

You may remember that we had to amend our initial Trust Lands plan as we didn't need the money for paraprofessionals because we received so much federal money due to the pandemic. Instead, we were able to purchase new sound systems for some classrooms, new teacher computers for every teacher in the building as well as some additional Chromebooks. The boost in technology has been appreciated by all staff members. It is expected that we have no more than a 10% carryover and we had less than 2%!
Our TSSA plan had only 2 expenditures, in order to have a full time counselor in our school, we have to contribute money for that cost. That is the first Goal/Expenditure you will see, the second Goal/Expenditure was paying our amazing paraprofessionals. We will have no carryover from this plan.

We will not have a meeting in December due to the busy-ness of the season, but we will hit the ground running in January as we start to formulate these two plans for next school year.

JANUARY 2023 MINUTES

Discussion Items:

Mr. Duersch has received complaints about the snow piles by the road and the parking lots blocking traffic. They are being reduced currently.
Complaints from the community about the calendaring issue with January 2nd not being observed as the federal holiday.
Pick-up and drop-off safety concerns regarding the placement of the school zone signs, the traffic and cars not following the procedures. Brad Gibbons, the administrative intern, is working on solutions.

Trust Lands and TSSA budgets from this year were reviewed and discussed with the majority of the budgets going towards our paraprofessionals. The council felt this was a beneficial place to use the funds.
