A Note from Principal Hull:
The vibrant colors and crisp air of autumn have brought a wonderful energy to our school, and we're
thrilled to head into a busy and productive season of learning! We have some fun things planned this
month, starting with Parent-Teacher Conferences this Thursday and Friday. We look forward to
connecting with you and celebrating the wonderful things your child has accomplished thus far. A strong
partnership between home and school is extremely beneficial for your child’s overall success.
We are also excited about Hot Lunch Week from October 13–17 and the opportunity to thank our
incredible kitchen staff who work tirelessly to provide a hot meal every day. As a friendly reminder, the
purpose of this week is to highlight our school’s hot lunch options, so we kindly ask that you refrain from
bringing outside fast food during this specific week. If you can’t join us then, parents are always welcome
to come and eat with their child on any other school day as well.
Finally, the whole school is buzzing with anticipation for Halloween on October 31st! To ensure a fun
and smooth day for everyone, please note that costumes must be school-appropriate and may not
include masks or toy weapons. Please consider the comfort of your child and their ability to use the
restroom independently as they select their costume.
Thank you for your continued support as we make this a fantastic fall for our students! My door is always
open. Please feel free to email me at paula.hull@ccsdut.org or call me at 435-792-7673 if you ever
have any questions or concerns. I’m here to help.
Warmly,
Paula Hull

A Note from Principal Hull
Dear Families and Community Members,
As the calendar turns to December and the holiday season approaches, I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the tremendous support and enthusiasm shown by our community over the past month.
A Heartfelt Thank You for "One School, One Book"
I am thrilled to report that our One School, One Book program this year was a truly remarkable success! The level of engagement, both in our classrooms and at home, was inspiring, and it reinforced the joy of reading for our students.
This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of some key individuals:
- A huge, special thank you to Ms. Babbitt for her tireless efforts in coordinating this wonderful initiative. Her commitment to fostering a love of literacy through engaging activities made all the difference.
- We also extend our deepest appreciation to our amazing PTA for their organization, support, and enthusiasm throughout the entire program and planning of our Literacy Night.
The culmination of the activity at our Literacy Night was a powerful testament to the strength of our school community. The community support was truly overwhelming, and seeing so many families participate made for a truly magical evening celebrating reading. Thank you for making it such a memorable event!

Angel Tree: Help a Family This Holiday Season
As we focus on giving and gratitude this time of year, we are also launching our "Angel Tree" drive to help support families within our school community who may be facing financial hardship this Christmas/Holiday season.
If you are able and would like to help bring joy to a family in need, we are now accepting donations for our Angel Tree. If you would like to participate by either shopping for gifts or providing a donation, please notify the front office.
As always, my door is open. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or the school office if you have any questions, concerns, or kudos. We accept all of these things.
Wishing you and your family a peaceful and joyous start to the holiday season.

A Note from Principal Hull
Welcome Back Students,
Happy New Year! I hope your winter break was filled with rest, relaxation, and wonderful memories with your loved ones. We are energized and ready for a fantastic second half of the school year!
Kindness Week is Coming
One of the highlights of January is our upcoming Kindness Week. We believe that small acts of service and encouraging words create a culture where every student feels safe and valued. Keep an eye out for more details soon.
Acadience Testing: January 13th
To help us better support your child’s academic growth, we will be conducting our Acadience Reading and Math testing on Monday, January 13th. These assessments provide our teachers with valuable data to tailor instruction to each student's needs. You can help your student do their best by ensuring they:
--Get a good night’s sleep.
-- Eat a healthy breakfast.
-- Arrive at school on time.
New This Winter: Sledding at Recess!
We are thrilled to announce a new seasonal activity! On days when we have sufficient snow coverage, sledding will be available during lunch recess. We want to make the most of our beautiful Utah winters and keep our students active.
The Details:
Who: Any student who wishes to participate.
Requirement: Students must be wearing a coat to participate.
Equipment: Please do not send sleds from home. To ensure safety and fairness, we will
provide the sleds, and the activity will be fully supervised by our recess aides.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and staff. Let’s make this January a month of hard work, kindness, and—hopefully—a little bit of snowy fun!
Warmly,
Paula Hull
COOL COUGAR SKILLS
In January we are reminding students about:
Resiliency- to make resilience easy for kids to understand, you can teach them the & "B.A.C.K." method.
The B.A.C.K. Method (How to Bounce Back)
B – Breathe First When you’re upset, your brain is like a shaken-up soda bottle. If you "open it
right away, it messes everything up!
A – Add "yet"
When something is hard, your brain might say, " I can't do this!" or "I'm not good at this!"
C – Choose a Tiny Step
Big problems look like giant mountains. You don't have to jump to the top; you just need to take one tiny step.
K – Know Your Team
Remember you have help.
---Please check the lost and found in the foyer at school to see if any items belong to your
student.
--We invite you to bring anything that is at least 60% metal to the school and leave it in our
metal bin on the North side of the building. We cannot accept fridges or freezers. They cost us
money when we take them to recycle.
